Bright Fish and Bright Sun - Olympic Peninsula Steelhead Report
Our Olympic Peninsula steelhead season has been off to a great start. We have been enjoying excellent river conditions, a bit of sunshine, and chrome bright steelhead on the swung fly! That's right, I said sun. True story, it has been absolutely beautiful out here as of late. What's more, pretty much every river is in great shape right now. This past week we spent time on the Hoh, Bogachiel, and Sol Duc and had a steelhead encounter on every one of them. This is one of the rare opportunities during the Olympic Peninsula winter steelhead season where an angler can choose any river to fish and be confident that they are in the game. Looking out into the extended forecast, it looks like we should be in for good to great river conditions for the foreseeable future, with a bit of rain most days but nothing serious enough to cause any blowout concerns. Enough rain to keep the rivers fresh but not enough to blow them out...music to any winter steelheader's ears. Jackpot!
If anyone would like to join us for a day of swinging flies, we still have a good amount of dates available in both February and March. If you are itching to get out during this window of excellent river conditions this week or next, we have February 15-17 (this Thursday through Saturday) and February 19th-22nd (next Monday through Thursday) open for guided trips.
If you would like to book a trip, shoot us an email or give us a call at 206-735-6237.
We hope to have you out on the water with us soon!
